While I obviously hate getting sick, I'm thankful it's during my summer vacation. Things would have been much worse had I gotten sick during the blustery Melbourne winter, having to brave the wind and rain to fulfil an obligation (school).
Fortunately for me, I had the freedom to take the most effective measures to combat this ailment: I took 4,000mg of Vitamin C, 1,000mg of Vitamin E, 6,000 IU of Vitamin D, 200mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid, and a cap-full of olive leaf extract, then proceeded to sleep for 16 hours over the next 24 hour period.
That worked wonderfully, and I was back to 100% (or so I believed) in a day's time.
So sure, getting sick is pretty bad, but knowing that I've got the liberty of control makes me get out of my sulky mood and just say, "I'm doing something about this, and this too shall pass!"
